May of last year one of my best friends asked me to help him realise one of his bucket list goals; to finish an IRONMAN. His idea was for me to help him with the long distance swimming and all that it entails. I not only said yes, I also agreed to do it with him. As it is with everything in life things like that need proper planning, so we agreed to aim to compete in our first IRONMAN race in 2020. So the #Project_IRONMAN_2020 was born.
The whole of last year I trained to get back in shape mainly through swimming. I had to get used to training 3, then 4, then 5 and then 6 times a week again. And alongside also adjust my eating habits and my daily routine. I started posting on my Instagram account when I did a session and it somehow forced me to go and practice every day. As I am more or less in shape now, I will start with specific preparation. Therefore as part of that I created a new Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/project_ironman_2020/) and this homepage where I will blog about the journey to my first IRONMAN race 2020.
